Cambodia Casinos

There is a captivating story to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just over the border from neighboring Thailand, where casino gaming is prohibited. Eight casinos are based in a relatively tiny area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in a prime area, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a few limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; however, financing sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 17:00, and despite the fact visas are supposedly necessary to cross, there are methods around this, as is true of many border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored boat gambling den, contains 150 slot machines and sixty gaming tables. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machines and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and sixty six of the familiar tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel building that highlights many conveniences aside from the gambling den, which provides 10,000 square feet of 130 slots and eighty eight table games.
